Cat-to-dog or dog-to-cat transmission of COVID-19: It is biologically possible, but documented transmission between household pets appears to be uncommon. Most infected cats and dogs are believed to have acquired the virus from infected humans rather than from other pets.
Animal-specific coronaviruses: Cats and dogs each have their own coronaviruses (feline coronavirus and canine coronavirus). These viruses generally infect their own species and are not known to commonly spread between cats and dogs.
